A federal judge granted preliminary approval on Wednesday for an $8 million settlement in the Flint water crisis civil lawsuit from engineering firm Lockwood Andrews & Newnam (LAN).
The Attorney General’s Flint water prosecution team appeared to grudgingly accept defeat Wednesday as the Michigan Supreme Court declined to hear appeals challenging the dismissal of criminal charges against seven former state officials.
Within the next two years, schools and childcare centers throughout Michigan will need to convert to filtered faucets or filtered bottle-filling stations for drinking water, under legislation approved in the Senate Thursday.
