President Joe Biden told a Democratic National Committee (DNC) panel Thursday the party needs racially diverse states with a primary election process to pick its presidential nominee in 2024.

The state Senate has approved, 34-1, moving up Michigan's presidential primary election. The action comes as a win for Michigan Democrats, who've been lobbying the national party to be chosen to kick off the presidential nominating process.

The Michigan Board of State Canvassers unanimously certified the state's election results Monday amid a smattering of outspoken candidates and election deniers who uncorked repeated claims of fraud and conspiracy during a longer-than-necessary meeting.

Although midterm polling in Michigan has been slammed for puffing up Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon's competitiveness, political scientist Matt Grossman says this year's polling could partially suggest Michigan pollsters are escaping a past pattern of bias.
