The state's Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) would have more rule-making authority over regulating pollution in Michigan's surface and underground waters, under legislation approved by Senate Democrats on Wednesday, revoking a piece of statute dating back to the early 2000’s.
Disabled Adults Could Hunt Using Mentor Program Under Bill

Adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities would be able to hunt for sport with a licensed mentor under HB 5737.
A coalition of clean water advocates Monday called on legislators to "slow down" and do some additional work on SB 237 and SB 238, which provide use and sales tax exemptions for mega-sized data centers, and which advocates say should be amended to require full reliance on renewable energy sources.
