48% Think Legislators Should Focus On Inflation, Cost Of Living

(Source: MIRS.news, Published 03/28/2025) In a new poll commissioned by Progress Michigan, 48% of respondents said the policy focus of Michigan lawmakers should be about addressing inflation and the cost of living.
Another 15% responded that adding more requirements for Michiganders to register to vote should be the focus. Another 14% said it should be investing in infrastructure, 11% said protecting the environment and 10% said something else. The final 2% were not sure.

The poll also asked respondents about their views on the performance of the Trump administration.
A 52% majority of those surveyed reported having either a very unfavorable (49%) or somewhat unfavorable (2%) opinion of President Donald Trump. 40% of respondents reported having a very favorable opinion of Trump, while 7% have a somewhat favorable opinion of him. 3% were not sure.
45% reported that life has gotten worse since Trump took office, while 37% reported life has gotten better. 14% said life has stayed the same, and 4% were not sure.
