SOS Candidate's Sister Calls Her 'Evil Person,' 'A Snake'

(Source: MIRS.news, Published 02/17/2026) Secretary of State candidate Amanda Love's sister urged Republican delegates in a Facebook video not to support her sister for the nomination, saying she's not qualified for the job, among other things.

Adora Orlowski told MIRS she has not talked with Love for a couple of years because she blew the whistle on her after leaving her husband and five children to live with a former GOP state House candidate. Love apparently also brought her young children to her place, which agitated Orlowski.

Shortly thereafter, Orlowski said she had strong reason to believe her sister cooked up a phony Child Protective Services (CPS) claim against her husband. The authorities came to find nothing, but the Orlowskis’ lives were turned upside down for a spell.

“She is a truly evil person and will do anything to anyone to gain power or control,” Orlowski said, “Mandy is a snake who lives with her life entwined in a web of lies.”

Orlowski said Love doesn't have a job outside the school board and suspects that she's using her parents' money to self-finance her campaign. Campaign finance records show that Love has put around $100,000 of her own money into the campaign. Love's husband has a working-class job and is not independently wealthy.

Love didn’t respond to requests for comments. Instead, she posted on Facebook later Tuesday evening, stating the claims were “deeply hurtful” and “not grounded in fact.”

“Some things should never be taken to social media and I refuse to turn personal pain into a public spectacle,” Love wrote, “I love my sister and always will. That will never change. I forgive my sister and I forgive the campaign that chose to coordinate this attack.”

Up to this point, the only candidate who has made issues of Love’s personal past an issue is fellow candidate Monica Yatooma, who, sources say, has been more hurt by making the revelations than benefiting from them.

Love, Yatooma and Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini are running for the Republican nomination at the March 28 endorsement convention. Counties are expected to start electing convention delegates next week.

This is not the first time a Republican candidate has been outwardly opposed by a family member. In 2020, the daughters of beleaguered House candidate Robert Regan urged folks not to elect their father.

In 2014, Rep. Greg MacMaster's mother supported his primary opponent, then-Rep. Wayne Schmidt.

Both Regan and MacMaster lost their respective races.
