(Source: MIRS.news, Published 07/15/2024) The fundraising prowess of U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Holly) has struck again.
The Democratic U.S. Senate frontrunner outraised what Republican opponent Mike Rogers and every other Michigan U.S. Senate candidate financially pulled together combined during the July quarterly reporting period, a MIRS analysis of Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings found. A spreadsheet with all congressional numbers as of 11:59 p.m. can be found here.
Slotkin reported $6.47 million in receipts for the period from April 1 to June 30. Rogers, by comparison, raised $2.08 million while fellow Republican Sandy Pensler reported $1.9 million, nearly all of which came from his own checkbook.
By comparison, Democratic Slotkin opponent Hill Harper raised $387,690, while Nassar Beydoun, who was disqualified, reported raising $126,350.86 before exiting the race.
Republican Sherry O’Donnell raised $143,345, which is in the same ballpark as former Republican congressman Justin Amash's $184,281.
For the entire campaign, Slotkin has raised $22.56 million. Everyone else combined has raised $15.5 million.
Likewise, Slotkin is in an entirely different league in terms of spending. Her Q2 spend of $12 million dwarfs that of her remaining primary opponent, Harper, who spent $617,905 in the same time period.
Republican candidate Pensler outspent even Rogers, coming in at $2.96 million to Rogers' $2.3 million, but most Rogers' TV presence during the primary has come entirely from a SuperPAC that is bankrolled by a pair of corporate CEOs. Amash spent $516,769.35 and O’Donnell spent $122,664.05.
Pensler also reported the most debt, at $4.95 million. He has $1.066 million cash on hand, coming in behind Rogers, who has $2.516 million.
Slotkin reported $114,968.59 in debt and $9.59 million cash on hand. Harper has $209,719 left in the bank. Amash has $400,706 in the bank and O'Donnell $46,517.
