Karamo Stiff Arms Detroit News, Free Press

Republican Secretary of State candidate Kristina Karamo is turning down separate invitations to have sit-down interviews with the editorial boards of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press because neither outlet is "honest about their bias" and there is "zero chance of a fact-based interview."

Karamo said both outlets have "constantly revealed their bias in protecting SOS (Jocelyn) Benson's corruption threatening the Great State of Michigan.

"They engage in deceptive practices, edit content thru omission and refuse to report on the incriminating evidence of SOS Benson falsely portraying her(self) as 'the soccer mom saving democracy,'" Karamo wrote on her Facebook page. "Their coverage treats satirical comments made during Christian podcasts years ago as if 'fact."

The Republican nominee also said the newspapers are attacking her personal beliefs that have nothing to do with the position of Secretary of State.

The Detroit Free Press ran an article in August that highlighted how Karamo spoke about getting more Christians to be involved in government at a panel discussion. The article then referenced how “Karamo had an extensive track record of making derogatory comments about LGBTQ people before she ran for secretary of state.”

A few examples were listed.

The Detroit News ran a story about one of Karamo's old podcast comments in which she said participants in the 2017 Women's March protests were "addicted to porn" because female traffic on Pornhub apparently dropped by 8.2% during the march.

It's not known if those stories were what Karamo was referring to, although she's also been in the news for telling Axios after the Republican convention she was leaving the state for 10 days to fundraise.

Also, a CNBC report got its hand on a document from Karamo's divorce file that claims she allegedly told her husband "Fuck it, I'll kill us all," as she tried to grab the steering wheel and crash a car driven by her husband and carrying their two teenagers.

This story was also picked up by other media.
