(Source: MIRS.news, Published 01/04/2024) “Hi, this is the news. We’re calling to figure out why you’re being reported as the most conservative lawmaker in Michigan.”
The opening line to a Rep. Josh Schriver (R-Oxford) music video, which he posted on X, features an unspecified news group calling the first-term legislator to ask about his record as the “most conservative” lawmaker in Michigan.
In November, Schriver was named the most conservative lawmaker by MIRS, which was determined through an analysis of 49 roll call votes taken in 2023.
Thursday, he posted the roughly two-minute song, called “The Conservative C.O.D.E.,” which walks Schriver’s constituents through his process, or code, that informs him during voting and resulted in his most conservative ranking.
C for constitutionality.
O for obvious flaws.
D for doesn’t make sense.
E for evaluate the consequence.
This is the second music video created by Schriver to inform constituents, after he posted “Check Me Out” in late November.
